The History of Electro Freeze
In 1946, Henry C. Duke and his son Glen, the then-owners of a commercial laundry equipment repair company, were approached to build something completely unique for a new, budding franchise called Dairy Queen. The result was the first available pressurized soft-serve ice cream freezer.
The rest, as they say, is history. Dairy Queens began popping up all over the country, enjoying phenomenal sales due in large part to the innovative machine. The Dukes left the laundry business behind, and in 1969 purchased Electro Freeze, which allowed them to expand their craft beyond Dairy Queen and offer a wide variety of frozen treats using this technology.
